JB was undergoing surgery at a small private hospital around 1973-1974 when she experienced clinical death under anesthesia. After being administered anesthesia, she plunged rapidly into darkness, feeling entombed within herself. She traveled through a pitch-black tunnel on what felt like a horizontal escalator moving at incredible speed, traversing what seemed like millions of years and miles. She approached an indescribable white, shining light that was alive with pure love. At the moment of union with the light, a masculine voice asked "Are you ready to die?" When she begged for her life, saying she didn't remember what she had promised, the voice told her she had failed to help others as promised but granted her a second chance. She then experienced herself as a tiny dot of consciousness in cosmic space, surrounded by infinite other "I's" who showed her The Word - depicted as a brilliant circle of living plasma-like light. She was immersed in The Word, experiencing it as supremely alive wisdom and truth, the source of all existence. She felt a boundary she could not cross. Afterwards, she saw beings in white robes who she initially thought were angels but were actually medical staff who said they almost lost her. The operation took 90 minutes but felt like billions of years.
