Diane experienced an NDE on August 1, 1971, during a white-water rafting accident on the Chattahoochee River in Georgia while her husband worked on the movie "Deliverance." Their raft became trapped in a hydraulic after going over a four-foot drop backwards. Diane was thrown out and caught between the raft and rocks with water pouring on her head. Unable to escape despite someone holding her arm, she consciously chose to drown rather than be smashed against rocks.
Immediately after going under, Diane found herself 100 feet above the river observing the scene below - the trapped raft, rescuers searching, her husband on a rock. When she tried to stop her husband from jumping in, her hand passed through him. She experienced expanded consciousness with total knowledge of reality and multi-dimensional universe, feeling pure Bliss and overwhelming love. She traveled through a vortex toward white light with a Loving Being of Light beside her who offered her a choice to return. Upon entering the light, she saw a higher vibrational reality with colorful landscapes, crystal buildings, and light beings engaged in creative activities.
