In January 1996, Heidi underwent an emergency hysterectomy due to severe hemorrhaging and dangerously low blood volume. She had received two prophetic dreams beforehand warning she needed hospitalization or would die. During surgery, her heart and lungs stopped functioning. She left her body and flew through the hospital - down halls, around corners, through glass double doors, then outside around the brick building, gaining altitude. Near the clouds, which glowed pinkish from streetlights below, she saw thousands of angels in flowing robes flying in the same direction. She struggled to catch up with an angel to her right. Just as she drew even with her, the angel smiled gently and shook her head "no." Heidi immediately dropped back into her body with a jolt. Her doctor stood pale and shaken at the foot of her bed, explaining they nearly lost her. Seven needle marks on her chest showed where they had injected adrenaline to restart her heart and lungs. The experience gave her certainty that God was directing and protecting her, and that she had more work to do on Earth.
