Ginger M, age 23, was vacationing in Florida when she was caught in an undertow while swimming in the ocean. She panicked trying to swim against it and became extremely fatigued, too far out to see the beach. She experienced overwhelming fear and thoughts of dying alone.
Upon losing consciousness, Ginger suddenly could no longer feel her body. She was enveloped in an exquisite sense of warmth and peace with a bright golden-white glow surrounding her. She traveled through what felt like a tunnel and viewed brief film clips of her life up to that point, seeing expressions on family members' faces. A man in a small sailboat appeared and asked what the problem was. She replied she couldn't swim to shore but has no memory of getting in his boat or sailing to shore.
