On June 10, 2007, Flora attempted suicide by overdose after running out of depression medication. She was brought to the emergency room and placed in critical care with kidney and liver failure. Family was told she might not survive the night. She stopped breathing, coded, and medical staff struggled to intubate her. She aspirated, developed fluid in her lungs, and spiked a 104°F fever. During this time, she first saw a man standing by her bed with arms folded, showing no emotion - she now believes he was sent to watch over her. She then found herself in spirit form standing by a gate with other spirits, examining her transparent hands and arms. The environment was blindingly bright but didn't hurt her eyes. She knew crossing the gate would be final with no return. A female voice in her head told her she must return, it wasn't her time. She awakened on life support and spent 14 days in intensive care. Doctors couldn't explain her survival. The experience gave her unconditional love, wonderful peace, and new spiritual awareness. She now has enhanced intuition and psychic sensitivity.
