At age 5, Elaine was attacked by a family friend who attempted to rape her. When she fought back, he slammed her head against the dashboard, killing her. She followed an intense bright light through darkness that was warm and loving. She arrived where people in white robes surrounded her, shining with intense light and complete love. They told her she would never have children but would be at peace with it, would become successful after getting glasses, would have a special true love for life, and would see future happenings.
The beings told her she had to go back despite not wanting to leave that wonderful place of wisdom. She felt a pull and returned to her body with horrible pain, sickness, and dizziness. The attacker was praying, scared he had killed her. All predictions came true: she had a hysterectomy without children, got glasses at 25, married at 22 (later remarried same person), and developed precognitive abilities. Elaine experienced numerous accurate premonitions including knowing when highway accidents happened, feeling crushed when people were crushed by rocks 5 miles away, but never clear enough to warn anyone. She joined the Colorado Traumatic Brain Injury Advisory Board. The experience fundamentally changed her religious views from conservative fundamentalist to metaphysical beliefs. She emphasizes that dying doesn't hurt - what hurts is coming back to the body.
