Diane C experienced clinical death for seven minutes during severe postpartum hemorrhage on April 4, 1958. While bleeding to death at home after thinking her water broke during her fourth pregnancy, she lost consciousness in the car en route to St. Joseph's Hospital. During her seven minutes of clinical death, she experienced extraordinary multi-location awareness, simultaneously observing her husband driving, her mother getting her son, her doctor rushing to the hospital, and her siblings at various locations. She could later tell the doctor every detail of his actions, including accompanying a nurse to the basement for plasma and the oxygen administration during CPR.
Her experience included traveling through the universe to a living firmament she recognized as Heaven, where everything - waters, grass, trees, animals including unicorns - radiated conscious love. An angel guide with a solid light body showed her various heavenly cities including one of green glass and another with golden streets. In a massive palace, she was shown God's computer displaying her pre-birth choice between incarnating in 1936 versus the Civil War era, viewed through what she described as a metallic disc (like a modern CD) creating a wall-sized display. In the throne room, she experienced God's reflected light and was told she was His instrument to bring sons back to Him through her pregnancies, having agreed to lose multiple children at birth. She received profound understanding about the nature of reality: that souls are created as solid light beings before earth incarnation, that earth is a test involving a battle between good and evil for souls, and that ghosts are mental projections. She was told her work wasn't finished and was sent back against her will, slamming back into her body as her cesarean section was performed and her son Michael was born. --- Biblical Summary --- Biblical elements: The experience contains numerous elements consistent with biblical accounts including Heaven as a real place with golden streets (Revelation 21:21), encountering an angelic guide (Hebrews 1:14), God's throne room with overwhelming light (Revelation 4), understanding of spiritual warfare between good and evil (Ephesians 6:12), pre-existence of souls (Jeremiah 1:5), and the concept of Earth as a testing ground. The being of light, recognition of divine love, and understanding that death is a transition align with scriptural descriptions of the afterlife. Unbiblical elements: Several elements contradict orthodox biblical teaching including the pre-mortal existence where souls choose their incarnation timeframe and families (contradicts Psalm 139:13-16), the ability to preview different life choices before birth, the claim that "we come but once, we do not reincarnate" while simultaneously describing choosing incarnations, and the presence of mythical creatures like unicorns in Heaven. The concept of God having a computer and the mechanistic view of pre-birth planning conflicts with biblical sovereignty and providence.
