David experienced a massive heart attack on April 10, 2005, with the left side of his heart not functioning and a blood clot present. He was helicoptered to the catheterization lab for emergency surgery. During the procedure, while watching his heart on a monitor being pumped with dye, he lost consciousness and had his NDE. He found himself in God's presence - not a bright light, but a soft grey haze everywhere. Jesus placed His hand on David's right shoulder and declared "This one belongs to Me." He was informed it wasn't his time yet and given a choice to return, though he was welcome to stay. In this realm, he experienced perfect safety, complete love, all knowledge available with no secrets, and no wanting for anything. Upon choosing to return, he awoke in recovery with everything having a hazy glow. His body felt foreign, like someone else's. Remarkably, David had been diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes three weeks before the heart attack, but three months after, his pancreas restarted and he became Type 2 diabetic with improving eyesight approaching 20/20 - medical impossibilities according to doctors. He now perceives earthly corruption acutely, can understand bird communications, has unusual rapport with animals, and feels he exists with one foot in each realm.
