Cynthi, age 20, was a passenger in a car driven by Dennis, a depressed acquaintance who had recently broken up with his girlfriend. In October 1973, Dennis drove through an intersection they should have turned at, accelerating dangerously. The car hit another vehicle head-on and flipped end over end three times, killing Dennis. Cynthi found herself traveling through a void at enormous speed, feeling friction on a different kind of body - an energy form. She arrived at a plateau where transparent beings in flowing robes awaited her - ancestors she'd never met but recognized as connected to her. One greeter came forward and spoke a simple two-letter word like "ib" or "er" - a word unknown to humanity. Upon hearing it, Cynthi instantly understood the reason for everything, connecting with all beings everywhere. She had complete universal knowledge and could see all of existence. She understood she had to return to life with no choice in the matter. When conscious in the hospital after multiple resuscitations in the ER, she was in intensive care for two weeks, hospitalized for two months total with multiple surgeries. She cannot remember the special word that explained everything, knowing that knowledge isn't meant for this life. She now believes in reincarnation and feels more spiritually connected, understanding science and spirituality as compatible.
