On January 20, 1998, Chuck K went into anaphylactic shock and coded after receiving a wasp venom injection (33% dose) for allergy desensitization, with no physicians in attendance. He experienced excruciating pain as every system shut down - throat closing, heart racing. Before losing consciousness, he was blinded by a bright light, then the pain ceased and warmth came over him. In spirit form, he was taken to a place of torture he knew as hell - a place of solitude, darkness, no rest, and gnashing of teeth. He believed this was his eternal destiny. Then out of the darkness came a light that was God, with an overwhelming presence of safety and love. God saved him from the fiery death with grace he felt he didn't deserve and sent him back to tell others the truth. Upon return, life completely changed - he saw the world as vile and not of God. His 60-70 hour job as a top car dealership service director meant nothing. God told him to place a life-size cross on his ranch hill. A fortuneteller in 1998 told him he had died before, would never die again, had thousands of angels, and would drop everything in 2000 to come to someone's side (which he now realizes meant the Lord). Multiple prior brushes with death: 1982 spinal meningitis, 1984 poisonous snake bite, 1991 wasp sting with anaphylactic shock, 1994 bee sting.
