Bill was traveling in a Toyota pickup when struck from behind by a Chevrolet Caprice at 65mph. His seat broke loose, he was trapped in the seatbelt, and suffered numerous head injuries as the truck folded like an accordion. He was completely dead with no vital signs for 6 minutes and 35 seconds. He experienced total relaxation and disembodiment at a "junction" where he existed as pure energy drawn to a huge white and golden light encompassing the universe. He felt connected to both his body and the "other place" like a thin strip stretching between them. As he touched the other universe, strands of electricity touched him and he instantly knew everything and experienced the whole of creation - no heaven or hell as religions describe, just the purity of the universe. He felt all life that had ever existed was there as essence. The paramedics used defibrillators multiple times, with the last shock being very painful and breaking his connection to the other realm. He returned angry at first, then understood it wasn't his time. He retained fundamental understanding that life is the mystery and death is but a step toward another form of existence. A Catholic priest later warned him not to share his experience as it contradicted church teachings.
