On January 31, 2005, Anthony suffered a heart attack with 100% blockage during an angioplasty procedure. As the doctor repeatedly urged him to "hang on," he felt increasing pain, cold, and difficulty breathing. When his breathing stopped and the room darkened, Anthony suddenly found himself able to see not only the medical staff in his room but also people in an adjacent observation room, including his cardiac nurse wife who had forced her way in.
