Arthur was driving home around 11 PM during a violent summer storm when his car skidded coming out of a tight bend. The car hit the curb and flew through the air for 20-30 yards before crashing into a brick wall. During the accident, he had an out-of-body experience where he was floating outside the car looking down at his motionless body sprawled across both front seats. Everything visual was in reverse like film negatives - black was white and white was black. He was suspended in mid-air with no sound, experiencing timelessness. There was an unconscious light behind him calling him nearer, but the faster he traveled toward it, the farther away it seemed. Eventually he traveled so fast that he re-entered his body and woke up. Despite the severe accident that wrecked the car and demolished a six-foot double-layer brick wall, he had no pain and only slight grazes. Police investigated the accident.
