Fifteen-year-old Wan I experienced severe side effects from psychiatric medication after being misdiagnosed with ADHD instead of bipolar disorder. The incorrect medication caused three months of left-side paralysis, difficulty eating and speaking. One night, breathing slowed critically and his heart stopped intermittently. As coldness crept from his feet upward, he cried "I don't want to die!" His Muslim father whispered the Shahadah in his ear. He felt a comforting presence on his right side and was lifted upward. Feeling like "cold mist" without physical form, he floated up and saw himself from above with his father, uncle Muharram, and mother present. He continued rising, seeing his house rooftop and neighborhood from above. Turning toward a bright light he thought was the moon, he was instantly vacuumed through what felt like a tunnel at tremendous speed toward the light. As he approached, the light brought unprecedented peace and calm - like being embraced by a lover, the safety of a parent's arms. He saw figures in white like a congregation. A young man around seventeen to twenty who looked familiar smiled and raised his hand to signal stop. Wan immediately started breathing again and returned to his body. Later, viewing old photos, he recognized the young man as his grandfather who had died a year earlier, appearing as he looked in his twenties. The experience gave him psychic abilities to sense people's emotions and sometimes see their futures. --- Biblical Summary --- Biblical elements: The out-of-body experience, tunnel of light, and encounter with a deceased relative in a youthful glorified state align with some biblical and traditional accounts.
