Timothy experienced a profound NDE on August 10, 1991, during a violent criminal attack by three armed men. After confronting intruders in his apartment who were weighing drugs, a confrontation ensued in the parking lot. One attacker swung a sword at him, which Timothy caught with his hands and kicked the attacker down. He then felt drumming on his head from another attacker with a bat. The pain became unbearable before everything went black.
Suddenly, Timothy found himself observing the scene from above, seeing someone lying on the ground with three men standing over him - one with a sword, one with a bat, and one with a gun. He initially didn't recognize the person on the ground was himself, thinking "Hey what's going on? That's me down there." He began rising above the buildings and trees when a Large Hand appeared and held his hand. He then saw a magnificent being with bright, beautiful features, long silver hair and beard, wearing a bright, never-ending gown. Without speaking words, Timothy heard "It's okay. We are going home." The divine being led him through an otherworldly realm. To the right was a field where people were harvesting grain of some kind. To the left were shops along a beautiful, bright street. Notably, he observed benches similar to bus stop benches, which struck him as unusual. Throughout this journey, Timothy experienced internal conflict, screaming "NO, NO, NO" and protesting that he couldn't leave without saying goodbye to his family whom he loved. He then heard the most calming and peaceful voice telling him "It's Not My Time Yet!" The experience profoundly transformed Timothy's life and faith. Though not previously religious, he now considers himself saved by grace from his Creator. He gained certainty about the afterlife, knowing he won't be alone and where he'll be going. The experience taught him that selfish needs and thoughts are unimportant compared to the divine presence that holds our hand through life's difficulties.
