Teresa M experienced a severe infection that led to a life-threatening medical crisis requiring emergency transport from a small town hospital to a larger facility in Winnipeg. Initially misdiagnosed and given only pain medication, her condition deteriorated overnight with red patches appearing all over her body. Her husband demanded immediate medical attention, and blood tests revealed she was critically ill with severe infection. During the ambulance transport, she lost consciousness multiple times while fighting to stay alive.
During this critical period, Teresa had an out-of-body experience where she found herself traveling through a dark tunnel feet-first at incredible speed. The tunnel appeared black with rings around it like a vacuum hose, which frightened her as she initially thought she might be going to hell based on her Catholic beliefs. Despite not seeing or hearing anyone directly, she felt a presence with her. In her fear, she spoke directly to God saying "Father, do with me as you will, I hand my life over to you." Immediately upon surrendering her life to God, she returned to her body where the ambulance attendant was slapping her face and calling her name, saying they thought they had lost her. Teresa reports that her life changed significantly after this experience. She and her husband became foster parents, helping many children. She works harder at being a better person and thanks God for giving her another chance at life.
