Sherry attempted suicide by taking a bottle of muscle relaxants on February 5, 1990. She was unable to breathe and everything went black as she felt herself drifting away. Medical staff worked frantically to resuscitate her, stating "We're losing her."
During the experience, Sherry found herself floating approximately ten feet above her body, observing the medical team working on her from this elevated perspective. She could clearly see doctors and nurses connecting monitors and performing resuscitation efforts. She was then drawn upward into darkness before finding herself in a standing/floating position with an unseen guide beside her. She observed a bright light in the distance and began moving toward it through what appeared to be clouds rather than a tunnel. Along the journey, she noticed silhouettes of countless people in bright purple against the pitch-black surroundings. She heard incredible vocal music without instruments or words. The light she approached was brighter than the sun - a wonderful, glowing, luminous white light emanating love, life, and serenity. Communication occurred through feelings rather than words. Standing before this light, she felt a mixture of fear and calm, knowing that passing through would grant her answers to everything. However, she made the conscious decision to return for her six-month-old baby. She awoke days later in the intensive care unit. The experience left her with occasional precognitive dreams and strong intuitive feelings about people's true nature. --- Biblical Summary --- Biblical elements: The experience contains several elements consistent with biblical accounts of the afterlife.
