At age 8 in 1975, Roberta deliberately tested the waters at a closed beach section with a dangerous drop-off, despite her mother's warnings and inability to swim. After falling past the drop-off, she began drowning. Initially panicking while thrashing underwater, she suddenly felt peaceful and left her body, watching herself tumble in the water. Though she didn't experience a tunnel, an intense ray of light wrapped around her, feeling incredibly warm and comforting.
