Muhammad experienced an NDE during a car accident on May 11, 2005, at 11:00 AM. A car at high speed struck him while crossing the road, causing injuries to his neck vertebrae with two vertebrae displaced. Despite the severity of the accident, he felt a strange, comfortable feeling he had never experienced before.
During the NDE, Muhammad felt as if he was flying in the air. Despite the very hot weather, he couldn't feel the heat. He heard someone on the road trying to get him to say the Islamic declaration of faith before dying: "No Gods but one God, and Muhammad is a prophet of God." He experienced happy moments unlike anything in his life, with no pain at all. He had an unearthly light experience and felt incredible peace and joy. While there were no specific veridical observations of earthly events, Muhammad gained a sense of understanding everything about the universe. He remembered many past events during the experience and felt no longer in conflict with nature. His thoughts were incredibly fast during the experience. He woke up when entering the hospital and heard the voices of nurses and doctors. Following the experience, his belief in God became deeper and clearer.
