Montreal Q collapsed in May 1972 due to a potential drug overdose experiment with Librium. After dropping and breaking a glass ashtray, a sharp piece cut into his heel causing profuse bleeding, and he passed out from the combination of drug overdose and blood loss.
During his NDE, he traveled out of his body and became conscious again, moving fast through darkness until a light appeared in what seemed to be a tunnel. He felt higher than ever before in life with deep tranquility and love. His recently deceased father (who had died nine months earlier) appeared and told him it wasn't his time and he had to go back. The primary veridical observation was seeing his mother from above as she worked to revive him and bandage his foot.
