During brain surgery for a 9/10cm aneurysm on the main artery to the brain in June 1997, Valerie experienced clinical death in a controlled simulation to prevent hemorrhage. She followed a figure in a warm golden robe moving upward toward a brilliant light. The figure stood in a stone doorway surrounded by vines, blocking the entrance to the light. Looking into the figure's eyes, she heard internally: "The prayers of the righteous are answered." She experienced total unconditional love beyond human comprehension and childhood memories of innocence and purity. She understood divine judgment as coming from within ourselves, perfectly righteous and complete. Despite desperately wanting to enter the light, she was not permitted and crashed back into her body with immense pain and heaviness.

--- Biblical Summary ---
Biblical elements: The experience strongly aligns with biblical themes including encountering a Christ-like figure, experiencing divine love, understanding righteous judgment, the narrow doorway/gate imagery (Matthew 7:13-14), and the power of intercessory prayer. The figure blocking entry until the appointed time reflects biblical sovereignty over life and death. The message about prayer aligns with James 5:16 about the prayers of the righteous being powerful and effective.

Unbiblical elements: None identified. The experience maintains biblical orthodoxy throughout, emphasizing God's love, righteous judgment, and the efficacy of prayer without introducing reincarnation, universalism, or new age concepts.
