Lynn was eight or nine years old, severely ill with a high fever causing hallucinations. Her father sat beside her bed, applying cold facecloths to reduce her temperature. She recalls seeing strange hallucinations like weavers on the wallpaper and blood oozing from walls before losing consciousness. She then found herself in total darkness - a void where she felt tremendously sad and lonely, aware she had died and must leave her family. She experienced dreadful homesickness while floating weightless in this void.
The sadness lifted when she found herself on a boat resembling a canoe with several unknown adults. An Native American in full traditional dress with feather headdress was rowing the boat. The river was silver like mercury, with oars making no ripples. Nobody spoke but the silence was comfortable. Soon an island appeared with brilliant light behind it, casting everything in silhouette. The grass was verdant, and dozens of people on shore waved joyously. A enormous brilliant white peacock-style chair stood in the center with a magnificent being seated upon it, though the backlighting prevented clear sight. As the boat approached shore, the joyous waving turned to urgent gesturing for her to go back. Though no one spoke audibly, her mind filled with voices saying it wasn't her time. Despite desperately wanting to stay, she found herself back in bed with her father asleep in the chair beside her. --- Biblical Summary --- Biblical elements: The experience contains multiple biblical parallels.
