In 1976, a 20-year-old college student suffering from severe migraines took a double dose of prescription medication during tennis class. She became paralyzed and fell forward into a typewriter. While unconscious, she experienced being completely without pain for the first time in her life, feeling overwhelming peace, contentment, joy, and love. She watched her roommate Trina climb to the top bunk and read Psalms in the Bible, realizing she was out of her body. Her roommate didn't know she was dead. She traveled through darkness toward a light, arriving at beautiful rolling hills with green grass and streams. A man stood behind a low stone wall who was going to take her to God. Looking into his eyes, she realized it wasn't her time and said "It's not my time," to which he replied "No, it isn't." Her life was reviewed in detail all at once. She was given understanding that transcended her previous Christian beliefs about salvation and religion. Being slammed back into her body was violent and painful. She could verify what part of Psalms her roommate had been reading. The experience permanently removed her fear of death and transformed her spiritual understanding.

--- Biblical Summary ---
Biblical elements: The experience includes beautiful otherworldly realms consistent with paradise, encounter with a guide figure, and life review. The reading of Psalms by the roommate provides a biblical context. The permanent spiritual transformation and loss of fear of death aligns with biblical renewal. The overwhelming love and peace reflects God's nature. The recognition that "it's not my time" shows divine timing and purpose.

Unbiblical elements: The experiencer states the encounter "invalidated" some of her Christian beliefs and suggests salvation is "already ours" rather than requiring faith in Christ. She indicates all religions are equally valid paths to God and that biblical understanding is limited. These universalist views conflict with exclusive biblical salvation through Christ.
