In August 2000, Loran suffered a massive cerebral cortex bleed due to undiagnosed high blood pressure and excessive overtime work, resulting in weeks of coma. During this critical period, he experienced being bathed in the most extreme living light imaginable, far exceeding any earthly experience of love.
From this perspective, Loran saw everything on earth and witnessed how this light loved everything with an intensity billions of times greater than human love. Even minute details like fine hairs underneath plant leaves were not only loved but somehow accounted for. He laughed at humanity's ignorance of how deeply we are loved, experiencing stupendous emotion and never wanting to leave that love. Suddenly feeling he wasn't done with his children, he gasped this thought and everything flew backward as he awoke to his smiling son. The most difficult aftereffect has been living with the constant desire to return to that light, as no earthly relationship or belief can approach that divine love. The experience provides great solace during meditation, giving him certainty that God is good and no one will be forgotten. His only frustration is wishing everyone could experience and remember that transformative light.
