Jedraine, age 17, was driving home from school at 140 km/h when he lost control, skidded into a ditch, and struck a telephone pole sideways in April 2006. He was clinically dead for ten minutes and transported to a hospital 80 miles away. Initially experiencing total darkness, Jedraine presumed he was dead but remained conscious. Then a piercing white beam of light shot down, causing the demons to scream and disappear. The blinding light widened, and artistic portrayals of Jesus and the crucifixion flashed before him. Jesus appeared, and Jedraine fell to his knees in utter reverence. Jesus said "You are worthy child, rise" and told him he would return to spread God's love. Jedraine then saw his deceased relatives (two uncles, aunt, grandfather, great-grandmother) who pointed downward, indicating he must return. He immediately found himself back in the hospital.
