HB experienced an allergic reaction in 1994 at a friend's house, collapsing in the bathroom with cessation of breathing for 3-4 minutes. She heard herself fall but was conscious of being upright in total darkness. Taking a step to her left, she entered a sun-lit beautiful place with happy, busy people and many children. Her deceased grandfather appeared with his arm around her, showing her a building with children. She was told she could stay if she wished but heard a voice say "You will remember nothing of this" before being pulled back. Upon return, she experienced complete stillness, then breathing felt like the universe expanding within her. Friends' voices initially had no sound though lips moved, then sound suddenly returned mid-sentence. The other world contained beautiful landscape with grass, flowers, water and trees. She felt incredible joy, rightness, calm, love, and unity with the universe, understanding everything. The experience changed her perspective on death permanently.
