Greta was swimming in a lake with her brothers when she attempted to swim to a stump and back. Not being a strong swimmer, she began going under halfway through the journey. Initially very frightened, she suddenly experienced peace as she began floating in what felt like a tunnel or tube going upward toward a brilliant white light. She felt incredible peace and wanted to go to the light before her brother rescued her. Remarkably, she cannot remember the fear from drowning but vividly recalls the intense pleasure from the tunnel experience. The experience included classic NDE elements of a tunnel, brilliant mystical light, incredible peace and joy, and a sense of harmony with the universe. She understood everything about the universe during the experience. Her son later displayed unusual spiritual awareness at age 3, spontaneously praising God without religious upbringing.
