Francisco S suffered a respiratory arrest five days after being bitten by a coral snake (micrurus lemniscatus) when his left lung collapsed. The next scene he remembered was observing an intense blue color like the sky while descending in a slow spiral until arriving at the bottom of total darkness.
At the bottom of this darkness, there was a brilliant light that gradually became more and more brilliant, giving him an indescribable sensation of peace. He then saw his grandfather who had died in March 2005, who asked him with great tranquility if he was fine there. Francisco told him he wanted to come back, and his grandfather responded, "Then, get out of here; this is no place for you." After that, Francisco started turning around in a foggy environment and returned to his body. He began hearing the doctors' voices unclearly at first, then more clearly as he realized they were fighting to make him breathe. Only at that moment did he realize he had left his body. The experience left him more peaceful and serene about life, understanding that it hangs by a thread. --- Biblical Summary --- Biblical elements: The experience contains several biblical elements including the out-of-body experience during clinical death, the brilliant light representing divine presence (1 John 1:5), and encountering a deceased relative which aligns with the communion of saints concept. The grandfather's role as a guide who sends him back reflects divine timing over life and death. The profound peace experienced aligns with Philippians 4:7 "peace that surpasses understanding." The transformation toward greater serenity and appreciation for life reflects spiritual renewal. Unbiblical elements: None identified. The experience maintains biblical orthodoxy throughout. The grandfather's message to return aligns with divine sovereignty over life and death. No new age concepts, reincarnation, or contradictions to scripture are present.
