After moving to a new city, G M went to meet friends on their boat at the quay. Following an argument with her partner who walked off, she ran after him on the wooden walkway. She experienced a sudden blackness and found herself floating and sinking simultaneously in pitch darkness. She then observed herself from above and slightly to the left, looking peaceful while floating on the water. Her friends heard something, found her floating unconscious with blue lips, and had to revive her. The experience of watching herself drown has stayed with her permanently.
G M reported feeling neither cold nor wet during the experience, just a floating and sinking sensation. She saw herself from an out-of-body perspective, observing her physical form in the water.
