At approximately four years old in 1973, FS was left at an unfamiliar house with an elderly woman who had angina. While her sister was babysitting, she found and consumed what she thought were sweets but was actually a full bottle of angina tablets. After her parents questioned her about the empty medicine bottle, she lost consciousness. Her heart stopped beating, constituting clinical death from the medication overdose.
She awakened to find herself standing on the floor looking up at her body on a very high hospital bed. A tube was in her mouth with a funnel on the end, and doctors and nurses were frantically working on her, pouring something into the tube. Their voices were raised with a sense of urgency, people moving quickly and looking worried. Despite being a small child standing on the floor, she could see high up onto the bed at a height her normal stature wouldn't allow. She observed everything in color and with remarkable clarity. Her most significant observations included seeing the entire room layout including a wall division, with her family on the other side crying and looking through a small window on the door. They were fighting for position to look through the window at her. She maintained a calm observational state while watching the medical team hurriedly work on her body. The ability to see both inside the room and perceive her family's actions outside demonstrated an expanded visual perspective impossible from her physical body's position. This vivid image remained with her throughout life like a short film, though she didn't understand what had happened until her teenage years when her mother told her about the incident. A psychic medium later independently told her she had passed over briefly as a young child, providing unexpected external validation of her experience. --- Biblical Summary --- Biblical elements: The out-of-body experience aligns with biblical descriptions of the spirit's ability to separate from the physical body, as suggested in 2 Corinthians 12:2-3 where Paul describes being "caught up" whether in body or out of body. Unbiblical elements: The mention of a psychic medium providing confirmation introduces a problematic element from a biblical perspective. Scripture warns against consulting mediums (Leviticus 19:31, Deuteronomy 18:10-12). While the NDE itself contains no unbiblical elements, seeking or receiving validation from a psychic medium conflicts with biblical teaching. However, this consultation occurred years after the experience and doesn't affect the nature of the NDE itself.
