On December 24-27, 1995, Denny experienced a near-death event during a diabetic crisis. His spirit was dragged by two guardian angels or light beings across a long white bridge. Halfway across, he saw a large city made of crystal light with colors of silver blue, white, and silver. He entered a large white dome at the end of the bridge where he sat while his guardian angels communicated telepathically with other beings seated around the dome's circumference.
The beings discussed whether he should be admitted to the city and heavens or return to earth. While the consensus was that he should stay, a leader stood and told him he had free will to choose. Denny chose to return, stating "I have a daughter that must know who I am, and also earth is in a lot of darkness right now. They need as many people with good heartedness within them alive and on earth right now." Upon his decision, he felt renewed strength and was guided by four guardian angels. As he passed the city, he sent love from his heart and felt at least 10,000 hearts return that love to him. He woke up in ICU with birds unusually gathering on his window sill in winter. For three days in the hospital, he felt invisible angel wings on his back and sat up to avoid lying on them. The wings were the same silver-blue color as the city he had seen. After three days, the feeling disappeared. Despite continuing health challenges with diabetes and other diseases, he maintains that the experience taught him there is no hell for humans, only levels of heaven, and that death is less traumatic than being born. --- Biblical Summary --- Biblical elements: The experience contains numerous biblical elements including guardian angels (Hebrews 1:14), a city of light reminiscent of the New Jerusalem (Revelation 21), a bridge that could represent transition to the afterlife, and divine beings in council. The concept of choosing to return for the sake of others reflects Christian service and sacrifice. The overwhelming love experienced aligns with God's nature (1 John 4:8). The unusual gathering of birds could be seen as a sign of divine presence in creation. Unbiblical elements: The claim that there is no hell contradicts clear biblical teaching about judgment and eternal separation from God (Matthew 25:46, Revelation 20:15). The statement that hell is only for Lucifer and fallen angels contradicts Jesus' teachings about human judgment. The concept of multiple levels of heaven, while mentioned by Paul (2 Corinthians 12:2), is presented here more like new age dimensional thinking. The emphasis on personal choice rather than God's sovereignty in life and death decisions shows a human-centered rather than God-centered perspective.
