In April 1991, Ruthie suffered severe food poisoning from fish that progressively worsened. Unable to walk by day's end, she spent the night crawling to the bathroom repeatedly. Her temperature reached 104-105°F and remained dangerously high for 5 days. Her husband found her near death and drove 110 mph to reach her. During this crisis, she began crossing over to the Light where her deceased mother and brother (dead 5 years) came to escort her. Her brother appeared young like "Howdy Doody" with reddish hair and freckles, repeatedly saying "Come with us Ruthie, we are having FUN!" They traveled through thousands of souls without harming them. She encountered a little girl whose soul she recognized - later realizing it was her own child spirit that had left at age 7 due to sexual abuse. Her mother watched her in a mirror while Ruthie stroked her hair but wouldn't speak, knowing that one word would make Ruthie cross over. A hooded being stood beside her with his arm around her shoulder. Her husband's violent shaking brought her back, seeing what she initially thought was hate but was actually fear in his eyes. After the NDE, she saw unprecedented beauty and color in nature. Doctors found all her female organs were gone (considered a "re-birthing"), her skin turned red and completely peeled off like a snake. She lost 17 pounds but returned to work with supernatural strength, able to toss heavy oak pallets.
