In July 1983, 12-year-old Rosemary developed spinal meningitis with severe headaches and fever exceeding 101 degrees. After a week in the hospital with no improvement, she was kept in an icy cold room to control her fever. Desperate for warmth, she covered herself with a terry cloth robe which inadvertently caused her temperature to spike dangerously. She felt herself separating from her body and ascending through a dark tunnel with awareness that two male angelic beings were escorting her. At the end of the path, she saw a massive window/portal to a paradise-like world with perfectly cut green grass on rolling hills, crystal clear streams, and beauty like the Garden of Eden. Her deceased paternal grandmother appeared radiant and glowing, reaching out to embrace her. When Rosemary lifted her foot to enter, a male figure (whom she knew was Jesus without introduction) stepped out and said "Come on, you can come if you want to, but once you come, you can't go back." His voice carried such peaceful energy that she fell paralyzed. Thinking of how sad her mother and sister would be, she was immediately sent back. She returned to a body stiff as a board with intense pain as her blood began flowing again. Her legs were paralyzed initially but she gradually regained movement.
--- Biblical Summary --- Biblical elements: The experience strongly aligns with biblical accounts including angelic escorts, a paradise realm resembling Eden, deceased relatives in glory, and most significantly, a direct encounter with Jesus Christ whom she recognized without introduction. The ultimatum about not being able to return once crossing over reflects the finality of death. The peaceful, powerful presence of Christ causing her to fall (similar to John in Revelation) is biblically consistent. Unbiblical elements: None identified. The experience maintains orthodox Christian elements throughout.
