Alexis was with friends when she became overwhelmed by everyone's emotions and felt she could see inside people. Having anxiety and unable to breathe properly, she asked for help getting to her car but her legs gave out. A friend reported she turned pure white, stopped breathing, and felt like dead weight. After darkness, a brilliant light flashed and she found herself watching from above as everyone ran to help her unconscious body. She could hear them screaming and felt all their emotions of fear and confusion. She felt she was helping carry herself to the car and trying to communicate with them to calm them down. She suddenly returned to her body, immediately saying she didn't need the hospital. For fifteen minutes afterward, she felt tiny and everyone seemed giant. She didn't share the experience for months. The experience convinced her that consciousness and body are separate things that can exist independently.
--- Biblical Summary --- Biblical elements: The out-of-body experience with consciousness observing the physical body strongly supports biblical dualism. The brilliant light could represent divine presence. The ability to perceive others' emotions and inner states resembles spiritual discernment. The experience of consciousness surviving apparent death aligns with biblical teaching about the soul. Her conclusion that consciousness and body are separate supports biblical anthropology. Unbiblical elements: None specifically identified. The experience is relatively brief and focused on the OBE aspect without controversial theological elements.
