Approximately 10 years prior to his report, Tazell experienced a heart attack and was in the emergency room when he was given TPA (tissue plasminogen activator) to dissolve a clot. His heart stopped beating and only fluttered with no blood flow to the brain for 3.5 minutes.
During this time, he found himself in a warm, comfortable place in dark space, not on Earth. He had the strong feeling of having been there before, like being home at last. He had no physical eyes but could see in every direction simultaneously. Beyond enhanced vision, he possessed many more senses than normal human senses and had access to an ocean of knowledge. He had no awareness of Earth, his wife, or son, and saw no people. The experience included understanding everything about the universe and gaining special knowledge. He witnessed scenes from both his past and the world's future. He believed he could experience any location he wanted. The darkness coexisted with light in this realm.
