Twenty-two-year-old Thomas experienced a sudden cardiac emergency in 1998, with his heart rate reaching 160-180 beats per minute with irregular rhythm. He felt overwhelming fear, gasping for breath with his heart feeling like it was beating out of his chest. At the hospital emergency cardiac unit, he lost consciousness while being monitored.
During his NDE, Thomas found himself hovering over the room observing himself and the medical equipment, though the people were difficult to see clearly. He then shot off rapidly through what seemed to be space, with planets and stars appearing very close. He hovered over a large black pyramid structure before being pulled into a vortex. He began hearing voices and seeing things during meditation that he identifies as spirits or unearthly beings.
