In 1985, Sam J experienced clinical death from an overdose in the emergency room. While on the examining table, he heard the nurse say "We lost him. He's gone." He observed the doctor jump on the table and strike him in the chest with doubled fists, feeling no pain. The nurse commented that the doctor had hit too hard and broken his sternum. There was an entity he believed was God sitting at a large architecture-style table. Sam was below the table looking up at this entity. The entity looked down at him and said: "What are you doing here? When I want you, I will come and get you. Now go back." Then the entity kicked him in the head with a sandaled foot that appeared to be made from an old tire. The next thing Sam remembered was looking eyeball-to-eyeball with the doctor. Following the experience, Sam walked away from organized religion but maintains absolute certainty about a supreme being and feels protected. He knows there is life after life and recognizes he was sent back because he didn't yet know what unconditional love was.
