On March 31, 1957, 13-year-old Robert B was electrocuted by an 8,200-volt power line while putting up a short-wave antenna with his brother. He held onto the pole for the entire duration until it burned through the power line. His brother released earlier but still received burns. Robert experienced excruciating pain initially, then extreme calm and peace.
