At age 15 in 1962, Ron K experienced clinical death following a severe car accident. The car, traveling at 90 mph on back roads, crashed into a tree after missing a T-intersection. Ron's head was trapped behind the rearview mirror mount, and he was found hanging in the windshield, soaked in blood. Both friends thought he was dead. During his clinical death, Ron found himself floating near the hospital ceiling, observing Dr. Ketter and two nurses working frantically on his body with blood transfusions and chest compressions.
Ron experienced extensive veridical and transcendent observations. From the ceiling, he clearly observed the medical procedures, recognizing the doctor and seeing the specific medical interventions. He felt wonderful, free from pain, and had no desire to return to his body. He then traveled instantly to what he calls the "Heavenly Plains," encountering a group of 50-100 spirits he recognized as his past lives, including three oriental women as his most recent incarnations. He experienced telepathic communication and was taken to a Council of three beings (Trinity) who gave him a life review where he felt the actual pain and pleasure he had inflicted on others. The Trinity showed him past and future world events and indicated he could affect future outcomes if he returned. Despite his desperate desire to stay, after throwing a tantrum like a child, Ron chose to return for his mother's sake. The experience included profound spiritual insights about the nature of love as the fundamental force of the universe. Upon return, Ron experienced unusual phenomena including disruption of electronic equipment in his presence and psychic abilities to read people's souls through their eyes. --- Biblical Summary --- Biblical elements: The experience includes many biblical elements: the Trinity representation of God, life review similar to judgment, the overwhelming divine love, telepathic/spiritual communication, and transformation of understanding. The concept of feeling others' pain aligns with biblical empathy and golden rule teachings. The heavenly realm of light and love matches biblical descriptions. His return being motivated by love for his mother reflects biblical selfless love. The lasting spiritual transformation and enhanced spiritual perception align with being "born again" or spiritually awakened. Unbiblical elements: The account contains significant unbiblical elements that contradict orthodox Christian doctrine. The most prominent is the explicit reference to reincarnation and past lives, with Ron seeing 50-100 of his previous incarnations including "three oriental women." This directly contradicts the biblical teaching of living once then judgment (Hebrews 9:27). The concept of choosing to return contradicts biblical sovereignty over life and death. The development of psychic abilities and the ability to disrupt electronics suggests occult phenomena. The Trinity's portrayal as evolved beings who mastered universal force rather than the eternal God of scripture represents a non-biblical theology.
