In June 1962 in South Texas, twelve-year-old Ramie was swimming in a deep canal near water pumps when a strong current pulled him down into approximately forty-foot deep water. His lungs filled with water and he sank, hitting a log at the bottom. He then left his physical body, observing himself swaying at the canal bottom. Rising through the water and above the surface, he saw his father and coworker running and yelling, with two boys diving to search for him - they did not see him but he saw them clearly.
He continued rising into the sky as light turned darker, hearing unfamiliar calming music. He experienced tumbling upward with soft blue and pink lights, floating toward a distant bright light. Approaching the light, he felt deep love for his anxious father and heard internally it was not his time, with a choice to stay or return. He chose to return for his father. He awoke to someone performing CPR, having been blue without pulse. He was bloated, spitting water continuously.
