Michael G, later diagnosed with Marfan Syndrome and diabetes, had a heart attack on the operating table during appendix surgery in December 1994 at a Texas hospital. He had been praying for death after his partner Roger died of AIDS complications. During emergency surgery at 5:45 pm under general anesthesia, his life rewound like a VCR showing his entire life back to birth, ending with a red drape. He saw the operating room light while floating and witnessed a portal of sparkling white light emanating unconditional love. He flew through it rapidly and experienced blue sky with clouds and wind through pine needles. He was shown hell as dead-colored cliffs with gold tones where shadow souls walked.
