Katie experienced a remarkable shared NDE in December 2001 when her partner Alan, located 300 miles away, collapsed from a severe allergic reaction and had to be resuscitated. While sitting at home eating tea with her grandmother, Katie suddenly "spaced out" into a different consciousness, experiencing vivid colors she cannot name and seeing a carousel. This occurred at the exact moment Alan collapsed. After Alan recovered, they discovered they had both seen the same things during his crisis. Katie describes Alan as her soul mate/twin flame whom she had dreamt of since age 3-4, knowing from childhood that she would meet this spiritual man who would become ill and that she would care for him until death, which came to pass. They shared dreams, said things simultaneously, and had numerous spiritual connections. After Alan's death, Katie experienced extensive after-death communications including waking at his moment of death, lights flickering, TVs switching on/off, and pictures moving.
