Joe D's earliest memory is from when he was a newborn hospitalized with pneumonia in 1979, experiencing what he believes was a pre-birth or near-death experience. In a state where he wasn't his current self and couldn't define what he was, he was led by other entities to a strange humming machine. Though he couldn't hear the hum normally, he could sense its vibration. The experience had a solemn, necessary tone. He entered or became one with this machine and passed through it into a tunnel. Without earthly senses, he felt infinitely small yet conducted through the tunnel, simultaneously squeezed through it while fitting perfectly, as if he and the tunnel were of the same substance. The journey through the tunnel seemed both instantaneous and infinite - a paradoxical sensation he cannot adequately describe in words. After emerging from the tunnel, his next memory is simply being alive with no memories before or after that point. Years later while driving truck, he had a profound spiritual experience while contemplating God and the universe. After promising himself to God's will, he was overcome with euphoric complete contentment and lost all fear of death. He now lives fearlessly, using logic over defensive reactions, believing he has a destiny to achieve before his appointed time to die.
