Jim B experienced an out-of-body event on May 17, 2004, after falling and hitting his head on ceramic tile flooring at home, suffering severe brain bruising with subdural and subarachnoid hematomas. After lying down for a nap at 1:50 PM, he tripped getting out of bed and was found unconscious. During his unconscious state, Jim found himself near the ceiling in his home's entryway observing a uniformed policeman directing traffic - medical personnel toward the bedroom and others toward the kitchen. He experienced complete silence and no pain. In an instant, he was in a corner of the bedroom watching paramedics work on someone at the foot of the bed, unable to force himself to look down at who was being treated. He suddenly regained consciousness on the floor with a large paramedic sitting on his chest while others held his limbs, describing him as "agitated" and "combative." He broke free, stood up, and was then strapped to a gurney and airlifted to a head-injury facility where he spent nine days, six in ICU. The experience gave him vivid high-definition vision with no shadows or darkness, complete calmness and serenity he had never felt before. He now believes we are spiritual beings in human form who return to the spiritual world upon death.
