Jim F, age 14, experienced a severe asthma attack in summer 1969 while lying in his bedroom with undiagnosed pneumonia. The combination triggered a life-threatening event where he stopped breathing entirely. He found himself floating near the ceiling, observing his motionless body below with complete peace and overwhelming unconditional love. From his vantage point, he could see through translucent walls - observing his sister Mary applying makeup in the bathroom, his mother cooking and singing in the kitchen, and siblings watching TV in the front room. He could see the side yard and traffic outside simultaneously. The experience was characterized by an indescribable sense of peace, warmth, and being immersed in unconditional love that still brings him to tears decades later. He felt no fear, only a desire to continue forward in this state. Suddenly, he was back in his body with the asthma attack completely resolved. This was his last serious asthma attack ever.
