Jeff experienced a near-death event during a suicide attempt by auto-asphyxiation in August 2004. He had passed into unconsciousness at 2:00 AM in his car when the experience occurred, before being discovered and resuscitated by his wife.
During the NDE, Jeff found himself standing at the edge of a cliff overlooking a deep, dark abyss. Within this void, he could see thousands of people with their arms outstretched toward him. While he could not see their faces clearly, the forms and reaching arms were distinctly visible in an ethereal manner. He described feeling no fear or doubt, only peaceful uncertainty, as he was fully prepared to die at that point. As Jeff began to step into the abyss, he was suddenly snatched back from the edge by an unseen force. He heard a clear voice saying "It is not your time; I am not through with you yet." Immediately after this intervention, he found himself being pulled from the car by his wife who resuscitated him. Following the experience, Jeff interprets what he saw as a glimpse into hell or a place of lost humanity. He shares his experience frequently as part of his testimony to warn others about the reality of hell and encourage them to turn to God. He reports enhanced powers of discernment and intuition since the NDE.
