Georgeanne M had been suffering from high fever on and off for two weeks in February 1999. Despite seeing a doctor a week prior with no improvement, she was getting progressively weaker. She visited another doctor who gave her an injection and medication. That evening, feeling slightly better after two weeks in her room, she decided to get fresh air at the night market near her campus, accompanied by a friend.
While her friend was shopping for shoes, Georgeanne's fingers began trembling and she felt dizzy before fainting and falling onto the road. Suddenly, she was floating above the scene, observing her friend screaming for help and seeing her own body lying on the road. Unable to believe her eyes, she screamed "am I dead?" but nobody could hear her. She watched crowds gathering around her body as she felt an energy pulling her away from the crowd, like being sucked out. Turning, she saw an extremely bright but beautiful light that she couldn't adequately describe. She found herself floating rapidly toward the light along a pathway of bright white light with colorful flowers on both sides - she described it as very beautiful, feeling like heaven. Then she began crying, telling herself she was too young to die and this wasn't her time yet. At that moment, she felt pushed away from the light, floating rapidly in the opposite direction. From above, she could see her friend holding her body and crying. The energy pushed her back into her body and she woke up sweating profusely. Her friend told her she had simply fainted, but Georgeanne couldn't explain what actually happened.
