In October 1986, while working as Program Director and Station Engineer at a Utah radio station, the minister was electrocuted by 4500 volts from an FM transmitter. The arc went through his metal flashlight into his right hand and exited through his left forearm. His scream was broadcast live as the studio microphone was open. He experienced an immediate out-of-body sensation, seeing his arms outstretched as an outline, then looking at the back of his own head and through his own eyes at his sitting body. He could move in and out of his body at will, feeling peace and contentment. He was pushed back into his body with a zipping sensation from legs to fingertips, while hearing/feeling the words "You are not yet finished." The station manager Gary Girard found him and took him to the hospital. Medical examination revealed a large exit wound on his left forearm. Doctors at the University of Utah burn clinic stated the electricity path (right hand to left forearm crossing the heart) should have been fatal. Five years later, while sharing this story at a church camp, he had a vision showing Jesus Christ was the one who pushed him back.
