Georgia S had taken an antibiotic for a sinus infection that wouldn't go away after two weeks. Despite telling the doctor she usually avoided antibiotics due to digestive issues, she was assured this particular one wouldn't cause problems. After four days on the medication, she woke in the middle of the night with fever, terrible stomach pains, blood in stool, and severe headache. She was shaking badly and in significant pain when she lay on the living room couch trying to sleep.
As soon as she closed her eyes, Georgia left her body and found herself in a bright white mist where she felt very calm and no longer sick. From the mist stepped her church pastor who had previously passed away. She was happy to see him, but he appeared worried and scared, waving his arms trying to communicate something urgent. Though his mouth moved, she had difficulty understanding his words. When she expressed how happy she was to see him and how much she had missed him since he passed away, he nodded furiously. She then realized "You're dead and I'm here. I must be sicker than I thought!" He nodded again, and at that moment she slammed back into her body so hard she fell off the couch, too weak to stand, having to crawl to grab her husband's ankle and whisper "Hospital." At the hospital, her temperature was 104°F and she was diagnosed with pseudo-membranous colitis with hemorrhaging and clostridia. The antibiotic had destroyed all beneficial bacteria in her bowel, causing an overgrowth of clostridia. Her intestines were becoming gangrenous - a life-threatening condition that left her very sick and weak for a long time.
