On December 14, 1991, Debi M was cycling home from work when hit by a car, falling and landing on the back of her head. She was unconscious when paramedics arrived and only vaguely remembers reaching the hospital in Warwick. She experienced severe pressure and pain in her head from the concussion and was admitted to a ward. The next morning, the pressure had built considerably and she begged nurses for relief, thinking she would rather die than endure the constant pain.

After losing consciousness from the head injury, Debi experienced herself floating at distance and height from her hospital bed. From this elevated perspective, she could see somebody in the bed (herself) with doctors looking at her with concerned expressions. She floated there observing the doctors examining her body before everything went dark again. When she regained consciousness, the pain persisted. She was hospitalized for 4-5 nights and discovered she had lost her sense of smell and taste from the accident.

Veridical Observations: From an out-of-body position floating above, Debi observed doctors examining her body in the bed, noting their concerned expressions.

Aftermath: Debi was initially too dazed to realize what had happened. Only years later did she understand she may have been clinically dead. The experience left her feeling different about herself and less confident about certain things. She takes each day as it comes, somewhat unnerved by the realization of her possible clinical death.

--- Biblical Summary ---
Biblical elements: The experience included an out-of-body state where consciousness separated from the physical body, similar to Paul's account of being "caught up to the third heaven" whether in body or out of body. The observation of medical personnel from above reflects a spiritual perspective transcending physical limitations.

Unbiblical elements: None identified. The experience was brief and focused solely on out-of-body observation without encountering spiritual beings or realms.
